Alcohol and Drug Services – North
The Allied Health Professional – Graduate position is designed for a university graduate who has successfully completed a University Degree in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or Social Work within the last 1- 3 years.
The individual will be:
- Trained in all areas of this multidisciplinary Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) service.
- Expected to gain sufficient competency to be able to work independently as a member of the Alcohol and Drug Service (ADS).
- Guided to deliver a high-quality alcohol and other drug treatment service in accordance with relevant Government Legislation and Regulations, Primary Health Care Principles, ADS policies, procedures and protocols and relevant professional competencies.
The role:
- Provide a comprehensive, evidence-based clinical assessment, treatment and assertive case management service to clients, and families/carers, who have issues with alcohol and/or other drugs.
- Undertake clinical documentation in line with organisational and professional requirements, including preparation of requested treatment reports.
- Participate in ongoing quality assurance programs, including the development and implementation of specialised alcohol and other drug psychosocial treatment programs.
- Contribute to the effective functioning of the ADS North multidisciplinary team.

Details of Appointment
Fixed Term, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 3 July 2024

Salary:
$64,072 to $98,027 per annum + 10.5% superannuation
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $724 per annum for the ability to accrue fund up to five years
- Post graduate qualification salary advancement where applicable
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or
- Degree in Social Work giving eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; or
- Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration.

- Current Driver’s Licence
