Counsellor Newlife IVF


Newlife IVF is an exciting independent IVF provider in Victoria offering comprehensive fertility care for individuals and couples needing help to conceive.  We are passionate about delivering a caring and supportive patient experience and exceptional results. 


We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and experienced psychologist or social worker to work within our multidisciplinary team to provide a personalised, caring and supportive experience for patients. 


Full time position available (4-5 days per week) 

The role will include: 

  • Provision of pre-treatment counselling for individuals and couples initiating assisted reproductive treatment (ART) such as in vitro fertilisation (IVF)
  • Provision of third party reproduction counselling sessions for donor egg, donor sperm, donor embryo, and surrogacy treatment cycles. Counsellors will be required to provide information, support and guidance regarding complex third party decision making and remain up to date with current legislative requirements
  • Provision of therapeutic and supportive counselling services to patients during and after treatment, including support groups
  • Establishing and maintaining close working relationships with Fertility Specialists and clinical staff to meet and exceed patient expectations and fulfil the Newlife IVF clinic vision


Essential requirements include:

  • Current registration as a psychologist or social worker
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • IVF counselling experience (desirable)
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise efficiently
  • Proficient computer literacy skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Desire for ongoing professional development 
  • Commitment to personalised patient care
  • Ability to contribute to a positive workplace culture 
  • Ability to adhere to standard operating procedures
  • Ability to work across Newlife sites including Box Hill, Clayton and East Melbourne
  • Ability to provide some after hours appointments when required
  • Critical thinking and contribution to improving counselling services
  • Ability to act with integrity and respect
