The Role:

The Harness Project Coordinator is responsible for developing and delivering high quality tool box sessions, intervention and psycho-education to men and women within the Construction Industry and responding to the contemporary needs as identified throughout the delivery of the project.

  • Collaborate with Union representatives to co-facilitate toolbox talks, workshop training, and programs at construction sites across Brisbane and Gold Coast in response to the issue of gendered abuse in the construction industry. 
  • Work collaboratively with the men’s counsellor (and broader CFW team) to create the most appropriate responses to the presenting needs of men & their families working in the construction industry.
  • Provide case consultation and advice to construction personnel.  
  • Respond to inquiries relating to the project and engage directly with construction workers, managers and union delegates in a variety of settings.
  • Work collaboratively with the men’s counsellor, female co-facilitator, service manager and boarder service to develop processes and structures for the project.
  • Networking and business development to maintain current relationships and build on new ones. 

The role is a full time position based in Capalaba OR Underwood. 

Please note this 12 month contract with the view of extension pending renewal of funding – The role is funded for 12 months from the appointee commencing. 

As per application number (AD/2018/38) and subsequent order granted QRIC 083, Our Client is exempt from the operation of sections 14, 15, 124 and 127 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 in relation to the attribute in s 7(a) until 24 May 2023 in respect of the activities of advertising for, and the employment of, specifically male or female counsellors for its domestic violence team.

Under this order, Our Client is recruiting male applicants only.

To be successful: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in counselling, social work, psychology or in the areas of human services (alongside relevant experience) received from a recognised university.
  • Demonstrated experience, skills and developed practice in counselling and facilitating group work with persons using or experiencing violence. 
  • Experience in risk assessment and management practices. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex and challenging group dynamics including a high-level of negotiation skills and conflict resolution as well as working with denial, minimization and blame.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DFV response frameworks, risk assessment and safety frameworks appropriate for domestic and family violence responses. 
  • Proven leadership with a growth mindset, innovative and inclusive leadership styles. 

Past or present experience within the construction, manufacturing or trade industry with an understating of the union and how it works is highly regarded. 

 

Salary and Benefits:
