Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Worker
1x Part time position – based in Nowra and Ulladulla 35 hours per week.
1x Part time position- based in Moruya and Ulladulla 14-21 hours per week
- Both positions are on a 12 month Fixed term contact until 31st August 2023.
The Southern Women’s Group Inc is recruiting for the South Coast Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service. This service assists women who are experiencing domestic and family violence by providing support through advocacy, risk and safety assessment and referrals.
We are seeking women with excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and advocacy skills. You will have a commitment to empowering women and children affected by domestic and family violence and have demonstrated ability to engage effectively with clients in crisis.
Employment is under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award and is subject to Working with Children and Criminal Record Check.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Being a woman is a genuine qualification for this position and is exempted under s.31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
- Understanding of domestic violence, its complexities and consequences.
- Knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice response to domestic and family violence.
- Ability to work with the local community to promote awareness of domestic and family violence and WDVCAS services.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The role is remunerated under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disabilities Services Industry Award 2010.
Superannuation and annual leave loading is paid and salary packaging is available.
You will need a current driver’s license and a well maintained and insured motor vehicle for this position. Reimbursements are paid for travel in the course of your work.
