JOB DESCRIPTION

GROUP THERAPIST AGED PSYCHIATRY PROGRAM – INPATIENT THERAPY (Mental Health Nurse Therapist / Psychologist / Social Worker / Occupational Therapist / Counsellor)

Permanent Part time – 6 days per fortnight including Saturdays and or Sundays

Delmont Private Hospital is an 88 bed private mental health facility with an extensive Inpatient, Day Program, Outreach and Specialist Consulting Suite. The Inpatient Therapy Program offers specific group programs to patients across General Acute Adult Psychiatry, as well as for Substance Abuse and Addiction and Aged Psychiatry.

We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated and innovative individuals with the skills, experience and flexibility to work in the Aged Psychiatry Group Therapy Program, including weekends.

You must be team player with a positive, flexible and adaptable outlook. Highly developed group therapy skills are essential, as well as a strong theoretical base in CBT, ACT and mindfulness. You will have a vision for excellence, a strong interest in program development and enjoy the challenge of providing quality care and service to older adults with complex mental health issues and their families / carers.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and as per the relevant Delmont  EA.

Key selection criteria:

Essential

  1. Relevant qualifications and registrations minimum of 2 years’ experience working in acute adult mental health setting or Aged Care setting.
  2. Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate evidence –based group interventions as well as single session individual interventions as required
  3. Knowledge and skills in addressing the mental health needs of older adults and their families / carers
  4. Strong understanding and working experience of psychological frameworks including CBT, ACT  and Mindfulness.
  5.  A flexible, innovative and compassionate approach.
  6. Ability to work minimum of 3 shifts including 1 weekend shift
