About CatholicCare NT and the Program
CatholicCare NT is a not-for-profit organisation, providing social services and programs to individuals, couples, families, children, groups, schools, and agencies across the Northern Territory.
The CatholicCare NT Tiwi Islands offices provide individual, family and community counselling and group work services, in the areas of alcohol and other drugs, suicide prevention, financial wellbeing and capability, NO MORE and safe house programs.
About the role
The Lead Practitioner Social & Emotional Wellbeing is responsible for the implementation, leadership, and integration of a variety of programs which currently include suicide prevention, AOD and violence prevention in order for the program/s to meet their objectives. This position has a particular focus on leading and mentoring staff, applying professional knowledge and support whilst providing direct services and managing complex client work.
What we are looking for
- Qualifications in a field relating to the counselling, social work, or community development.
- Minimum five years’ experience in relevant practice and team leadership.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills report writing, case note writing.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with managers, staff, and stakeholders across a range of diverse cultural groups and settings.
- Experience in reporting and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data in line with program requirements and leading a team to do the same.
- Experience in providing supervision to multi-disciplinary staff.
- Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people.
