St Andrew’s Catholic College is set on a picturesque 25 ha site located in the Redlynch Valley. The College is a P-12 co-educational school of over 1,720 students. In 2023, the College will organise its P-12 setting into a two-sector model: Junior (P-6) and Senior Years (7-12). This is indeed an exciting time for the College.

About the Role
The College Counsellor (Prep to Year 6) will work collaboratively with the College Counselling team and school community with a focus on fostering the development, mental health and resilience of all students, including those considered at-risk and those with special needs.
They will provide guidance and counselling skills through direct and indirect processes and through systemic and individual interventions, thus contributing to equitable educational access, participation, and outcomes for all students.
The School Counsellor is a certified professional who works in partnership with the school by contributing specialised knowledge and skills in a collaborative, collegial manner.
Work Requirements
- Hold a degree in the disciplines of Education with a Masters of Guidance and Counselling, or a Degree in Psychology or Social Work with appropriate experience
- Have highly developed interpersonal communication and relationship skills in dealing with a diverse range of students, school staff, parents, community members and professionals on an inter-agency basis
- Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education
