St Aloysius College, North Melbourne is seeking applications from qualified, experienced, and passionate Psychologists who will support the College’s vision and values.
This is a part time role (0.5FTE) commencing in 2023 where you will join the College’s current Psychologist in providing a high quality counselling service to students and offer advice and guidance to parents and staff in matters relating to the progress and wellbeing of students.
This may involve counselling, liaising with parents and teachers as well as referrals to outside agencies and professionals as required. You will work closely with the school’s leadership team in promoting, implementing and supporting the whole school wellbeing program.
The College is seeking applicants who, among other qualities, can demonstrate:
- Qualifications and current registration as a psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
- Commitment to act in accordance with the ethical and professional guidelines outlined by the AHPRA
- Eligibility for membership of the Australia Psychological Society
- Knowledge of, and preferably skills in, the administration of various Psycho-educational assessment tools e.g. WISC-V, WIAT-III, and Vineland
- Experience providing specialist counselling to students with regards to personal, emotional, social, behavioural and cognitive difficulties
- The ability to work effectively with students and their families and apply a range of evidence-based interventions and counselling appropriate for different issues and stages of development
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Passion for supporting the development of children and young people
- A minimum of 3 years’ (preferably) experience working as a Psychologist – ideally in a school environment
- Hold a current Working with Children Clearance
