Specialist Family Violence Practitioner

Full-Time Position 

$42.94 – $44.89 per hour + Superannuation & NFP Salary Packaging

About the Role: 

Marian Community Specialist Family Violence Services based at VincentCare’s Hume Community Hub in Shepparton are seeking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic individuals who demonstrate empathy for those affected by disadvantage. Reporting directly to the Team Leader, Specialist Family Violence Services, you will provide immediate interventions and short term case management to victim survivors experiencing and/or escaping family violence.  You will contribute to the 24/7 on-call roster and be available on designated weeknights and weekends.

The role is responsible for promoting and delivering person-centred operational approaches that preserve and respect the diversity and autonomy of our clients. This requires you to have an in-depth understanding of the gendered nature of family violence, intersectionality in family violence, and the nature, dynamics and impact of family violence across a broad range of familial relationships.

We have a lot of work to do in this space. In your first year you will work on:

  • Providing person-centred, high quality risk assessment and risk management to support victim survivors; 
  • Supporting the Team Leader, Specialist Family Violence Services to identify, create and implement program reviews, needs analysis, risk assessments, and change management processes;
  • Providing a consistent point of reference for the Marian Community Practitioners in delivering high quality case management services in line with the established procedures; 
  • Actively work toward surpassing client expectation through honest, transparency, communication and a commitment to quality service delivery;

About you

You are a qualified professional with experience in providing comprehensive case management, planning and support to assist clients within a family violence setting. You understand partnership initiatives and deliverables and have an ability to work alongside other stakeholders.

You have experience in maintaining constructive, empathetic, supportive and respectful working relationships particularly for an integrated service response.

Your experience and knowledge also extend to:

  • Effectively engaging with people experiencing complex issues;
  • An ability to manage critical incidents, identify and act upon immediate risks in both outreach and service-based capacities;
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Experience in liaising with other community service organisations for the development of on-going relationships and referral protocols beneficial to client support.
