About the position: 
Student Counsellors at Bond University offer a confidential counselling service to help students with any issue from study pressures to personal problems. As part of the Student Wellbeing & Success team, this role will ultimately be responsible for providing a professional and confidential counselling service to students and staff of the University.

Reporting to the General Manager, Student Success & Wellbeing, this position requires the successful applicant to monitor the student body as well as provide clinical assessments and instigate appropriate treatment or interventions when needed.

This is a part time (0.6 FTE) contract for 3 days per week from August 2022 until January 2023.

About the person:
The successful candidate will have the following:

  • A postgraduate qualification in psychology, registration as a psychologist with AHPRA and eligibility for relevant professional membership.
  • Proven experience in counselling, particularly in a tertiary setting, and in dealing with a range of problems pertinent to students, e.g., personal, social, cultural, academic, career and financial.
  • Proven experience with a range of counselling styles, e.g., crisis counselling, individual and group counselling, large group presentations, cross-cultural counselling, and occupational counselling/mediation.
  • A high level of interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience dealing with students and staff from a broad range of social and cultural backgrounds.

The salary for the position is $57,136.33 (0.6 FTE) plus 10.5% superannuation per annum.
