Support Worker- Escaping Domestic Violence Uniting NSW & ACT

JOB DESCRIPTION

Homelessness and Community Services of Uniting provide outreach and crisis support and case management to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, including those who are escaping from domestic violence.

  • Full time – office hours in Parramatta area
  • Opportunity to support women escaping domestic violence

Role Overview:
This role is responsible for the provision of safe and appropriate accommodation and support services to residents through the delivery of high-quality care to service users.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with intake and assessment where relevant to the role
  • Develop and monitor support plans/individual case plans, based on Services Practice Guidelines
  • Provide individual assistance for clients (women escaping domestic violence) in line with support plans and identified goals

About you in the role:

  • Certificate IV (minimum) in Community Services, Mental Health, Youth Work or other relevant field
  • Hold a current NSW Drivers License WWCC and First Aid Certificate 
  • Experience working with vulnerable people, relevant to the service (women escaping domestic violence)
  • Knowledge of best-practice for Specialist Homelessness funded Services
  • Ability to think on feet and support women work through complex issues
  • The role is designated for a female under section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act
