Primary Care Connect is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated professional to join our Family Violence team as the Men’s Family Violence Case Manager.

About the Role

This position works within the Family Violence Team with the aim to provide services to perpetrators referred to the Family Violence Prevention Program.

The Men’s Family Violence Case Manager will provide education, information and support to male clients on the issues of clients and abuse towards women, with commitment to a gender-informed and inter-sectional approach. This position would conduct the initial suitability assessments, deliver tailored casework and liaise with other support workers and agencies to ensure that safety remains at the forefront of the program, within the required local, state and national guidelines and frameworks. The service areas for this position include Greater Shepparton and Moira. 

Key Selection Criteria 

  • Bachelor of Social Work or has related qualification; OR 
  • Has been working as a specialist family violence worker for at least the last four years; OR 
  • Has lived experience or a significant cultural barrier and be willing to work towards a minimum of Bachelor of Social Worker
  • 2 Years of experience in the Family Violence Sector working with men  
  • Experience and Training in the use of Common Risk Assessment Framework Model  
  • Understanding of and experience in providing motivational and behaviour change models  
  • Experience in providing assessments, care planning, service coordination and writing case notes and reports. Experience in providing phone and face to face counselling.  
  • Knowledge of the principles relating to confidentiality and duty of care 
  • Experience and understanding of the Criminal Justice System 
  • Experience using technology to complete daily work tasks
