Staff Counsellor – Employee Assistance Program (EAP) South West Healthcare

About the role

South West Healthcare (SWH) is committed to implementing and providing a safe and healthy workplace for our valued employees. In recognition of this, our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a confidential counselling service assisting employees with personal and/or work-related issues impacting their health and wellbeing. The internal EAP model is unique to SWH and has built a solid base over the last 10 years. The model is highly valued by both the staff and the organisation.

This position is based predominately in Warrnambool however provides a responsive, service across all SWH campuses. Applications are sought from experienced, committed and dynamic Social Workers, Psychologists or Counsellors to join the team and enhance its future growth and development.  

We are seeking applications from clinicians seeking either part time or sessional work. Whilst the positions are permanent, secondment opportunities are able to be offered to the right internal applicants. There is no expectation of out of hours work.

What you bring

As an experienced Clinician with a background in counselling, you will have a sound appreciation of evidence-based counselling and coping strategies. You will value the importance of compassion and confidentiality and be cognisant of organisational dynamics and the challenges these can create.

The successful applicant/s must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to work autonomously and within a team. An ability to demonstrate good judgement, work planning and strong decision-making abilities is required along with sound understanding of organisational dynamics within the healthcare system.

Employment Terms and Conditions will be in line With Victorian Public Health Sector (Medical Scientists, Pharmacists And Psychologists) Single Interest Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021, or Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2021. Classification will be dependant on skills and experience
