About The Role
Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is an evidence-based intervention for children, young people and families. This high-quality, strength-focused family counselling model is designed primarily for at-risk families referred from The Department of Communities and Justice.
The Functional Family Therapist will utilise a range of approaches to address areas of concern and provide families with the tools they need to achieve their goals and reduce the risk of harm.
Working collaboratively across the agency and with external colleagues to support the family is central to the role’s success.
About You
- Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or another relevant discipline
- 2+ years of experience working with vulnerable young people and their families
- Ability to identify and respond to risk
- Embedded understanding of Trauma-Informed Practice
- Experience and knowledge of theoretical approaches when working with children and families, including strengths-based approach and attachment theory
- Working With Children Check
- Willingness to undergo a National Criminal History Check
- Full Australian driver’s license
