About your opportunity

The Reural and Remote Resource Team is currently seeking to recruit a Mental Health Clinician to their team on a permanent full-time basis. This position is based in Ayr.

You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and other service providers to provide specialist mental health and alcohol and drugs interventions for community members (and their families) across the lifespan who experience complex and severe problems relating to their mental health and/or alcohol, or other drug use disorders.

Clinicians are supported to draw on their current skills and experience and/or develop skills and experience to provide care to an identified subgroup of clients such as children, older persons, and/or those with complex substance use issues.

Generous remuneration package value up to $118,996 p.a. comprising:

  • Salary range of $2719.80 to $3997.60 p.f. (HP3)
  • 4, 5, 6 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements

  • It is a mandatory requirement to be and to remain vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • The successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree in one of the following: Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work.
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
  • Highly desirable: 
    • Formal training or qualifications in individual or group therapies
    • While not mandatory, eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act 2016.
  • Ongoing professional development relevant to the delivery of specialist Mental Health Services (MHSG).
  • Blue Card requirements
  • Possession of class C drivers’ licence.
  • All employees of the Mental Health Service Group may be required to work in other areas of the Service.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • 6 month probation period.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
