  • DFV Specialist – Fulltime Permanent (75hrs a fortnight)
  • DFV Specialist – Fulltime Fixed Term to December 2023 (75hrs f/n)

The Domestic Violence Action Centre (DVAC) works with individuals and communities to eliminate, prevent and respond to domestic and family violence, and sexual violence.

Join Ipswich and Toowoomba’s leading Domestic Violence organisation reducing the prevalence and impact of gender-based violence for over 25 years.  We are growing and have a number of new positions available.

What do you bring to the team

  • Live our values of Community, Action and Resilience.
  • Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in the human services field (degree qualification required)
  • Strong experience and skills in gender-based violence risk assessment, trauma informed practice, safety planning, crisis support, system advocacy and case management
  • Committed to the National Standards for Child Safe Organisation
  • A working knowledge of or the ability to acquire understanding of the Domestic & Family Violence Protection Act 2012 and knowledge of court and legislative proceedings as they relate to the Act
  • Current driver’s license, Blue Card and Covid Vaccination certificate or medical exemption

The DFV Specialist is required to

  • Provide a holistic domestic violence response to clients who have experienced or are experiencing gender-based violence using a trauma informed, case management approach
  • Work collaboratively with clients to identify current needs and develop a plan for ongoing support and referral as needed.
  • To work with clients to improve and increase their safety and that of their children.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Possession of relevant tertiary qualifications in the human services field
  • Strong experience and skills in gender-based violence risk assessment, trauma informed practice, safety planning, crisis support, DFV education, system advocacy and case management
