The Opportunity

Be the last member of our established Multisystemic Therapy team in the South East as an MST Practitioner and support our great outcomes in working with families as part of the Family Preservation & Reunification (FPR) Response.

The MST Practitioner will function as part of our MST team and will participate in weekly team supervision and consultation. Daily duties include assessment, treatment, and collaboration with families, youth, and community agency staff. 

About the MST Program

Multisystemic Therapy (MST) supports young people aged 11-17 years who are presenting with severe challenging behaviours, including offending. It is an:

  • Intensive and flexibly delivered;
  • Evidence-based and community-based intervention; and
  • Does what it takes to achieve meaningful change.

As an MST Practitioner, you will be able to work in ways that other program structures don’t allow. Interventions are intensive and target change across the systems in which the young person is engaged to achieve change and improve outcomes for the young people and their families. 

The team consists of one MST Clinical Supervisor and four MST Practitioners.

About You

You will be an experienced practitioner who has experience of working with marginalised, minority and difficult to engage young people and/or their families in their homes and communities and must be available to provide periodic rostered on-call after hours, across a 7 day week roster. 

You will hold a degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related subject area with significant experience in therapeutic settings, and experience in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Strategic Family Therapy and behaviourally-based treatments are preferred.
