College Psychologist – 16 January 2023 to 1 December 2023

Part-time, Term-time, Contract position, 15 hours per week (2 days)

ROLE OF THE POSITION:

Reporting to the Head of Secondary/Head of Primary, this role will work across the whole College to provide counselling and clinical intervention to students, parents and families in the management of educational, social, and emotional difficulties.

The College Psychologist will work closely with colleagues across the College in all aspects of the curricular, co-curricular and pastoral programs.

KEY REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must hold registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law
  • Qualifications and/or experience in the areas of pastoral care, wellbeing and/or positive psychology
  • Highly developed organisational and planning skills
  • Initiative, judgement, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Understanding of the developmental needs of students from Prep -Year 12
  • Skills in suicide prevention, risk assessment, safety planning and postvention
  • Understanding of the mandatory reporting responsibilities related to child protection
  • The ability to work cohesively with parties internally and externally
  • Exceptional negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate to a broad range of stakeholder groups
  • Proven implementation and coaching skills
  • Understanding of the importance of social and emotional learning and how this might be monitored
  • Proven ability to work as a constructive member of a team with a professional, courteous manner
  • Demonstrate support for the College’s philosophy, policies and procedures, core values and commitment to the Anglican ethos
  • Acknowledgement and compliance with Our Commitment: Creating environments for children and young people to thrive – A Code of Conduct for Anglican Schools and Education & Care Services
