A part-time Child and Family Counsellor position is available for a general Psychologist or Level 2/3 Social Worker in the Tweed shire, predominantly based at Murwillumbah Community Health.
 
In this role, you’ll provide a range of community-based child and family counselling services in accordance with evidence-based practice, and an in-reach response to the acute setting as appropriate for children under 12 years. You’ll work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework, ensuring a focus on health promotion and early identification and intervention.

 

 

If you have:

  • Bachelor of Social Work with eligibility for membership to Australian Association of Social Workers, OR Degree in Psychology and eligibility for full registration with AHPRA
  • Extensive experience in the provision of clinical services for a complex case load, working in domestic violence, low risk suicide and child development for children 0-12 years, and substantial knowledge of life span stages
  • Ability to plan and coordinate client care independently and operate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Understanding and knowledge of Aboriginal social, cultural and economic issues with capacity to flexibly develop local responses to community needs using cross cultural communication skills
