We are currently seeking a suitable qualified Children’s Counsellor to join the Early Intervention Specialist Program (EI) in Caboolture. This is a part-time role working 4 days per week for 12 months.
The EI program offers individual therapeutic counselling and group work, to children and young people, aged 0-18. You will:
- Undertake assessments and counselling to assist children and young people cope with trauma and abuse related issues.
- Prepare written reports relating to; clients matters (eg case notes, referrals, case review) and statistical and administrative reports.
- Support children, young people and their families using a child-centred, and strength based framework with a Trauma informed Practice using play therapy.
- Provide group work to children, family therapy & children’s counselling to assist clients achieve their goals.
- Advocate for clients and provide suitable referrals if required.
What you’ll need:
- A tertiary qualification in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Social Science or Human Services and eligibility for membership of a relevant professional association.
- A current drivers licence.
- A current blue card.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
