Family Violence Counsellor Next in Health

JOB DESCRIPTION

Next in Health is pleased to have partnered with North Richmond Community Health for the appointment of a Family Violence Counsellor on a full time basis based at their Richmond HQ.
  
This position will see you responsible in providing specialist family Violence and generalist counselling and Casework support to disadvantaged and marginalised individual’s and their families experiencing multiplicity of issues including mental health, family violence, housing and employment.
  
North Richmond Community Health, Medical and Social Services are specially designed to provide the best support for individuals and families all over Melbourne and Victoria.

  • SACS Award Level 5 – $84,000 to $90,900 plus 10.5% Superannuation
  • Salary Packaging of up to $15,900

  • No weekend work – Monday to Friday only.

  
As the Family Violence Counsellor will be required to have:

  • Current unrestricted AHPRA registration
  • Bachelor degree in Social Services / Counselling, Social Work, Psychology
  • Maintain up to date CPR and/or First Aid training
  • Demonstrated experience working in a family violence specialist service and current knowledge of MARAM, relevant legislation and demonstrated experience with post crisis family violence counselling.
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience in practicing a range of counselling interventions particularly with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability in design and delivery of therapeutic group work programs
  • In accordance with Victoria Health, Triple vaccinated
  • Cleared Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Cleared National Police Check

Some of your day to day duties of a Family Violence Counsellor will include:

  • Provide specialist family violence and generalist counselling and casework support to clients according to individual & family need
  • Carry a caseload of clients determined depending on intensity of cases and group programs.
  • Attend weekly team meetings to discuss cases, waitlist and case allocation based on expertise and experience.
  • Provide comprehensive client assessment and develop targeted case plan for intervention;
  • Maintain registration with appropriate professional bodies;
  • Adhere to professional Codes of Ethics and uphold organisational standards of client care.
