Why this role matters
We are seeking a values driven AOD Overdose Prevention Practitioner to provide support to clients who are at higher risk of overdose through assertive Care & Recovery Coordination.

You will successfully

  • Engage and support clients through the service system to minimize their chance of missing opportunities for treatment
  • Provide Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) education through collaborative practice
  • Ensure intensive support is provided to each client to ensure that clients are assertively followed up and linked to appropriate support services

This is a permanent full time position located in Bendigo. Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Industry Award Level 5.

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum qualification Diploma Community Services
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work or related discipline
  • Relevant experience in a social service environment
  • AOD Skillset or obtained within the first 12 months of commencing employment
  • Completion of Forensic Fundamentals or obtain within first 3 months of employment
  • Family Violence foundational, information sharing scheme and brief/intermediate risk assessment training within the first 12 months. Refreshers as required or directed
  • A current VIC Drivers Licence
  • Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
  • Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
