We are looking for Day Program Supervisor, a skilled activities supervisor who can create and lead initiatives to increase social inclusion of people with disabilities through goal-oriented activities that are in line with NDIS plans. With the goal of implementing program best practices that satisfy participants’ evolving demands, you will develop new programs and evaluate existing ones to raise their quality. In addition, the role will entail directing the creation of diverse programs and community initiatives as well as participation-oriented programming development, execution, and assessment. These programs will offer a variety of adaptable, responsive services that encourage social inclusion, healthy eating, physical activity, and mental stimulation.

Main key responsibilities:

  • Supervise  a group of Support Workers who give high-quality, flexible, and individual services is necessary for this   position.
  • Assist with planning and coordination of programs and their activities.
  • Monitor implementation of program policies and practices.
  • Support program growth and development as necessary.
  • Updating activities/ timing slots calendar on website.
  • Checking emails for bookings.
  • Replacing sick calls/ staff cancellation shifts.
  • Staff hiring for day program.
  • Performance reviews.
  • Day program staff Scheduling. 
  • Liaising with support coordinators and families in regards to clients progress.

General Shift Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities are done daily/as needed.
  • Supervise and manage the day to day operations.
  • Effectively communicate and support the organization’s mission, vision and values.
  • Ensuring goals are met in areas including client and family satisfaction, safety, quality, and team member performance.
  • Prepares and submits all required reports, statistics and quality assurance functions to verify program services are in accordance with agency and departmental Quality Assurance, following policies and procedures. 
  • Report incidents.
  • Communicate regularly with support workers, family members and community partners.
  • Monitors and ensures that activities, both inside and outside of the Day Support.
  • Directly supervises staff  in planning and coordinating services designed to: teach individuals life skills necessary to establish and maintain their independence and increase individuals’ participation in social and community based activities, increase individuals’ range of socially appropriate behaviors and habits to increase acceptance and integration in the community at large and assist individuals in maintaining health and safety skills..

 

About You:

  • Applicants must be highly motivated, vivacious, and dedicated to giving persons with disabilities the best care and assistance possible.
  •  Willing to assist clients in a range of activities. 
  • Passionate and committed person.
  • Exhibit high level of organization and time management skills, who has prior experience supervising staff, and who understands and embraces the significant sector reforms that are currently underway. 
  • Willing to assist clients in any range of activities. 
  • At least one year of experience with the role. 
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proactive problem solver
