Why this role matters
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a values-driven and proactive AOD Practitioner to facilitate the Therapeutic Day Rehabilitation (TDR) program utilising a combination of strategies including group work, one to one intervention and family support for individuals experiencing Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) related problems.

You will successfully

  • Referred clients are screened, assessed and matched after liaison with catchment-based intake, allied health and other health care professionals to the most appropriate treatment service.
  • Consultation of client intake occurs with the program Team Leader and Intake Coordinator
  • Effective relationships are established with clients that encourage self-determination and participation
  • Case management support is provided to clients and their families
  • Individual treatment plans are developed in collaboration with clients and include a range of interventions that address the needs or goals of clients and their families.
  • Clients are assisted to access support services and establish community supports

This is permanent part time position (30.4 hours per week) and sits within Goulburn Valley Drug and Alcohol Service – Community Stream and located in Shepparton. Other AOD services offered include, AOD Assessment & Counselling, Care and Recovery Coordination (CRC), Overdose Prevention Program (ODP), Family Reunification Program (FRP) and a residential rehabilitation.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award, Level 5.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor of Human Services, Master of Social Work
  • Diploma in Health or Community Services
  • AOD skill set or willing to obtain within 12 months
  • Relevant experience in a social service environment
  • A current VIC Drivers Licence
  • Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
  • Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
