JOB DESCRIPTION

Centacare Family and Relationship Services (CFRS) is a non-profit community organisation that supports the strengthening of family and community relationships, particularly where there is vulnerability and disadvantage.  Our services are available to the entire community regardless of religion, circumstance, ethnicity, economic situation, age, gender or ability.

The role:
  
We are currently seeking two (2) dedicated and experienced full time Practitioners to join our Gold Coast team. These are full time roles, working 38 hours per week.
Work hours will be negotiated with the successful applicants.  However, please note that some flexibility is needed in order to meet business requirements.
  
  
This is a great opportunity for qualified Practitioners with a background in Family Dispute Resolution, and a good understanding of the family law system, to make a positive impact in the community.
Candidates who will be highly regarded for this role will have experience in family counselling and group facilitation (i.e. parenting, children’s programs, etc.), have a well-developed understanding of the impact of Domestic & Family Violence, Child Safety and Family Law, and have a willingness to participate in accredited training to become an FDRP.

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated applied understanding of Domestic and Family Violence Act, Child Protection Act and the Family Law Act.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in the principles and practices of intake and assessment, case management and referral pathways including screening for risk in the areas of child protection, domestic and family violence, suicide.
  • Demonstrated substantial knowledge and experience in working with complex family systems, high acrimony environments, family distress and trauma, mental health problems, drug and alcohol and family law issues.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in the delivery of group psycho-educational programs.
  • Well-developed written work including report writing, case notes, data collection, data entry and computer literacy skills.

  
  
Essential requirements for the role:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Science from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Eligibility for membership of APS, AASW, or similar recognised professional association.
  • Have a current Blue Card – or eligible to apply.
  • Have a current drivers licence.
  • Agree, if offered employment, to Centacare conducting an Australian Federal Police Criminal History Check.
  • Agree to sign a statutory declaration stating that you have no overseas criminal offences.
  • Have Australian Work Rights – Australian citizenship/Visa documentary evidence is. If so, to be provided at interview (please contact us for details if needed).
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination.


Remuneration:

  
Remuneration for this position is paid in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award, minimum level at 5.1.
  
In addition, you will have the option to take advantage of our generous salary packaging options to increase your take home pay.
