Lisa Thurin Women’s Health Centre
Cabrini recently opened the first private, voluntary, women’s-only mental health facility in Australia. Located in Elsternwick, the new Lisa Thurin Women’s Health Centre service will focus on treatment for a number of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder. A short stay mental health program will be supported with intensive day program, telehealth and community support.

About the role
The role will be responsible for providing comprehensive clinical care and support for the delivery of specialised care for clients with mental ill health. This position is consultative and collaborative within the multidisciplinary team, demonstrating evidence-based practice and the highest level of client and family satisfaction and team engagement.

A part-time position with a minimum of three days would be considered for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge, experience and skills to provide recovery-orientated clinical care to support the individual’s goals whilst working collaboratively with clients, families and carers in the development, implementation and review of treatment plans and goal.
  • Deliver safe, evidence-based, trauma-informed practice to achieve optimal health outcomes.
  • Demonstrate attention to the needs of the client and family to provide privacy, dignity and the maintenance of confidentiality.
  • Liaise with Cabrini Mental Health Services and other specialist services to ensure the needs of clients with mental health needs are met.
  • Support clients and team with discharge planning.

About you
We are seeking a Grade 2 Mental Health Clinician (Women’s Mental Health) with experience and qualification/registration as either a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker.

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to engage with consumers, provide assessment and planning to meet the needs of the consumers and their family/carers, and collaborate well with the broader team.

You will have

  • Appropriate qualifications in Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Social Work.
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (where applicable) as a Psychologist or Occupational Therapist.
  • Sound theoretical knowledge within the profession as well as interventions in mental health and two years post graduate experience.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) and proven ability to liaise negotiate and communicate with staff, including the multi-disciplinary team, community agencies and the wider service system.
  • Sound planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to educate clients, family and staff.
