About the Role

The Graduate Developmental Educator forms part of a highly skilled team of allied health professionals in supporting children, young people and their caregivers to achieve optimal developmental outcomes. The position will be responsible for providing evidence-based assessment and intervention services specifically responsible for assisting clients and their families in achieving their goals and maximising their potential.

In this role you will be: 

  • Providing specialist developmental assessment and intervention programs.
  • Undertaking and teaching functional skills in life domains including social, communication, self-care, daily living and recreation.
  • Developing and implementing positive behaviour support planning and promoting emotional health and wellbeing.
  • Providing case management and counselling supports to children, young people and their carers.
  • Undertaking developmental behavioural assessment and therapeutic interventions based on research and best practice, in positive behaviour support, developmental and attachment approaches.
  • Working effectively within a multidisciplinary team to support clients and their families to achieve positive developmental outcomes through a family centred and strength-based approach.
  • Any other responsibilities in line with the position as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Kudos Services.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Bachelor of Disability and Developmental Education (or Equivalent)
  • Full membership of the Developmental Educators Australia Incorporated (DEAI) or willingness to obtain
  • Experience working in the field of developmental education with children, young people and their families (desirable). 
  • Excellent written communication skills including the ability to prepare high quality written reports, and other documentation as required. 
  • Proven ability to maintain professional networks to promote best practice in service provision for children and disabilities. 
  • Highly developed interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in partnership with people with a disability, their families, and support networks to deliver a range of specialist services. 
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • A sound understanding of person-centred thinking, the principles of NDIS and the National Disability Services Standards. 

It is a requirement of this position that the successful incumbent maintains a current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screen Check which is satisfactory to Kudos  in accordance with the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act 2016 (SA), a current driver’s licence, and has received their COVID-19 vaccinations.
