About the role

The Early Intervention Psychological Support Response Service (EIPSRS) is an outreach service that provides a person-centered approach to recovery that is tailored to meet the needs of those living with mental health challenges in the community. EIPSRS is an individualised, tiered complexity program of up to 12 months focussed on supporting people to enhance their recovery and wellbeing, achieve their better life goals, live safety and independently in the community.

 

We are seeking a compassionate, dynamic Group Facilitator for an 8 month fixed term, part time (30 hours per week) opportunity to work in the Bendigo area. Working from home, you will utilise lived experience of mental ill health and recovery to co-design, deliver and facilitate group programs and education supports for clients across a range of areas including developing community connections, building life and social skills, personal development and supports to achieve recovery goals in line with the Mind Recovery College (MRC).

 

Key responsibilities

  • Utilise lived experience to deliver high quality group work services and facilitate positive educational and social experiences.
  • Design and deliver group programs and education courses that encourage and inspire positive engagement, learning and participation.
  • Following the MRC guidelines plan and facilitate group activities that support clients to build skills, develop social connections, focus on recovery and access the community.
  • Provide information and mentoring to clients to establish connections with families and carers, create networks and access to relevant services.
  • Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated, integrated response to client’s recovery goals.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy and qualifications in Education, Vocational Training or similar is desirable.
  • Prior lived experience and willingness to support clients through sharing learnings and recovery-orientated practice is required.
  • Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.
  • Proven experience in design, facilitation and delivery of groups, education supports, vocational training and learning activities.
  • Proven capability to implement therapeutic, recovery-oriented frameworks and practices including risk mitigation, trauma informed care and family inclusive practice.
