We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Support Coordinator in our Safe at Home team. We have two full time, permanent positions available. Hours of work – 38 hours per week based in the Perth Metro area.

The Safe At Home Support Coordinator provides a service in conjunction with WA Police and DCPFS to families and individuals who are experiencing family and domestic violence. This role is responsible for providing assessments, interventions and recovery support interventions to women affected by family and domestic violence in order to assist them in improving safety options, connection to healing and recovery programs and safety planning to improve their quality of life, maximising self management, independence and participation in the community.

Who are we looking for?

It is expected that the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Relevant qualifications in a related discipline at degree, diploma, or certificate level/less formal qualification with work or lived experience to perform sufficiently at this level/or demonstrated work experience at the level.
  • Personal goal planning skills that contribute to the achievement of client goals in line with the Model of Care.
  • Skills in reflective practice and highly developed report writing using analytical reasoning.
  • Ability to support, mentor and work alongside supporting staff members.
  • Advanced computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office and client reporting system.
  • Ability to engage and maintain professional relationships with clients, and their wider formal and informal supports, with multiple needs and challenges.
  • Demonstrated understanding of complex issues facing people who experience chaotic life circumstances such as homelessness, AOD use, family/domestic violence and mental health issues.
  • Willingness and ability to work within and contribute to the vision, mission, core values and the guiding principles of the organisation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of diversity, gender and social inclusion, particularly Aboriginal culture.
