About the role

The purpose of this position is to provide senior clinical leadership and support clinical operations for Counselling and MERIT programs including liaison with the Local Courts and state-wide MERIT teams to determine client eligibility and negotiate admission to the MERIT program.

We are looking for someone who… 

  • Holds a Bachelor degree in Social Work or equivalent that provides eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers with experience at level 2 or higher OR Must hold as a minimum a bachelor degree in counselling or a related field or must hold a minimum of a bachelor degree in a relevant field e.g. community welfare, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer OR Must hold tertiary qualifications in psychology and be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • Demonstrates advanced clinical knowledge and significant clinical experience in the provision of services to patients for substance use and related issues.

About working for SLHD

This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy (PD2022_030)
