A little about the role

Our Refugee Asylum Seeker Health Team provides comprehensive physical & mental health assessment, referral and limited support for newly arrived refugee and asylum seeker clients.

Social workers provide the following services:

Client strengths assessment, Counselling, Case Coordination, Advocacy and Referral for these clients.

 

We are currently recruiting multiple positions for experienced social workers to join our Refugee Health team on fixed-term contracts until 30 June 2023. We are open to full-time/part-time arrangements and what this may look like for you.

Your main base will be Broadmeadows but you’ll also work across DPV Health sites and at time conduct home visits.

About you

To be successful, you will possess/demonstrate the following:

  • Have Social Work qualifications and must fulfil the membership requirements of the A.A.S.W
  • Have experience working with clients from a refugee background who have suffered trauma and may have difficulty adjusting to life in Australia
  • Are familiar with working with Interpreters as this is the norm for all client interactions
  • Use a strength base model of care
