What you’ll be doing:
The Mental Health Clinician of the Homelessness Mental Health Team will provide mental health assessments and interventions to a caseload of consumers experiencing homelessness.
Your role will be required to perform duties in accordance with recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practices and contribute to strengthening partnerships with mental health services and housing service providers.
This is an exciting permanent full time opportunity for a Mental Health Clinician to provide person-centered and strength-based support to people living with serious and enduring mental health issues.

Selection criteria to be addressed:
- Current registration as Registered Nurse Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) including completion of a new graduate RN program or equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist Level 1/2 currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or for Social Workers eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Demonstrated experience in mental health assessments, providing care to people with mental health issues together with demonstrated knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act and related legislation.
- Demonstrated reasoning skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team as well as the ability to work effectively with service partners to support consumers’ recovery.
- An understanding of recovery orientated care with demonstrated ability to meaningfully collaborate with consumers and their family and carers regarding mental health service provision.
- Able to participate as a member of the team in quality improvement strategies, development of policies and procedures and clinical research.
- Excellent level of verbal/written communication skills, analytical and interpersonal skills and the ability to apply these skills.
- Computer competency including demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of information technology systems used in Health settings.
- Current unrestricted class C NSW driver’s licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
