Experienced Perinatal Mental Health Social Worker/Mental Health Nurse/ Psychologist/ to work at Gidget House Taree and/or Muswellbrook.

The Position:
We’re looking for Mental Health Social Workers, Mental Health Nurses, Clinical Psychologists or Registered Psychologists, to deliver face to face psychological support at Gidget House Taree and our newly established Gidget House in Muswellbrook, both located at Tresillian Family Care Centres. Please note that clinicians are able to provide a blended service delivery with both face-to-face and telehealth consultations currently on offer to clients.
Our specialist perinatal (conception to one year postpartum) clinicians provide a wide range of individual, couple and parent-infant therapies to women and their partners. In addition to pre-conception counselling, we offer services to those experiencing, or at risk of developing, perinatal depressive, anxiety and trauma or stressor-related disorders. Support is also provided to women and their partners who have experienced a pregnancy or childbirth-related loss, e.g. stillbirth, miscarriage or termination.
Remuneration for psychologists and accredited mental health social workers is the current Medicare Better Access Initiative rebate amount for a 50+ minute consultation. Remuneration for non-accredited mental health social workers and mental health nurses is $77.80 per session (equivalent to the Medicare Better Access Initiative rebate for accredited mental health social workers) provided through external funding.
The Foundation offers:
- For non-accredited mental health social workers, the Foundation will offer to fund accreditation training so that the Medicare Better Access Initiative can be accessible to clinicians.

Requirements:
- If the Foundation funds accreditation training for mental health social workers, the clinician will be required to commit to working with the Foundation for a minimum of 12-months post training.
- Demonstrated proficiency in comprehensive psychological assessment and evidence-based therapy relevant to expectant and new parents with perinatal mental health issues.
- AHPRA registration with endorsements in psychology, accreditation as a mental health social worker (or eligible to complete), or credentialing as a mental health nurse (or eligible to complete).
- At least 3 years post-registration experience, with specific experience working with perinatal clients or in a complementary field. (For social workers and mental health nurses, demonstrated independent caseload management experience with perinatal clients, if accreditation is not yet complete, candidates will still be considered).
- Demonstrated ability to work within a recovery-oriented model, utilising a person/family centred approach.
- Demonstrated high level communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently under approved professional supervision.
- Effective caseload management.
