Where you come in:
In this part-time position (60.8hrs per fortnight) based in the Brisbane Region you’ll work within our Domestic and Family Violence program. You will work as part of a team providing crisis support to women and children who are experiencing domestic violence. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be based in Brisbane in our crisis accommodation program working flexible hours between 7am – 10pm Monday to Sunday.
You will make an impact by:
- Working within our trauma informed and child centred practice frameworks
- Providing case management supports to women and children, with a strong focus on safety and exit planning
- Completing thorough risk assessments, safety plans and referral pathways
- Working effectively within the specialised crisis model
Does this sound like you?
You have a significant knowledge as a DFV practitioner, with strong case management skills and experience of working with families with complex needs. You have high levels of resilience, initiative and flexibility alongside cultural sensitivity and knowledge. You have a thorough understanding of the impact of Domestic and Family Violence on women and children and can apply that within a trauma informed framework.
This role requires:
- Qualifications in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience of working with women and children experiencing DFV
- Strong assessment skills, including risk assessment, needs assessment, safety planning and sourcing appropriate referral pathways
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- The ability to participate in an after-hours response (rotating roster).
