JOB DESCRIPTION

The Opportunity 

You will work collaboratively with our Mother and Baby Team and Medical Centre to provide midwifery care in our unique continuity of care model. You will develop meaningful relationships with women and families from early pregnancy through to 6 weeks postpartum with a small case load by providing:

  • Antenatal Consults (30 minutes) followed by GP Consults
  • Six weeks of weekly postnatal home visits
  • Cofacilitating parenting and cultural groups
  • Women’s groups

Selection Criteria Questions

  1. Outline your experience in providing comprehensive and contemporary midwifery care.  
  2. Please list your qualifications relevant to this role. 
  3. Demonstrate your understanding of Aboriginal cultural and current issues that relate to Aboriginal pregnancy, childbirth, mortality and morbidity.   
  4. Provide examples of your experience working in a community setting including your ability to plan, deliver and evaluate individual and group education and support programs.  
  5. Provide examples of your ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and your understanding of the ‘continuity of care’ and care coordination model.
  6. Describe your understanding of trauma informed care.
  7. Explain your excellent interpersonal communication skills, verbal and written, including building good working relationships with mainstream services.
