Our client is a long standing member of the community in providing creative, planned and innovative youth focused services. This well-established organisation is a non-for-profit Brisbane based service supporting needs such as legal, domestic violence, counselling, disability, mental health, employment and other youth and family based services.

The Role:
Assessment and Service Connect partners with Child Safety to help address families’ unique needs during assessments periods and ensure intervention levels are proportional to families needs. The ideal person for this role will be creative, solution focused, resilient, collaborative and flexible.
This is a permanent, full-time role located in Slacks Creek.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete timely assessments to determine immediate risks and needs in conjunction with Child Safety’s assessment and screening processes.
- Facilitate effective connections with families quickly alongside relevant external services to support child safety.
- Ongoing risk and safety planning and monitoring in collaboration with Child Safety Officers.
- Completion of accurate data entry.
- Provide accurate verbal and written reports on assessments and connections.
To Be Successful:
- Degree in a relevant discipline and/or experience are essential.
- At least 5 years’ experience working in a Child and Family role.
- A comprehensive and up to date understanding of child protection legislation and practices.
- Ability to quickly build connection with parents and children in crisis.
- Knowledge of childhood development and impacts of trauma and adverse childhood experiences.
- Knowledge of the underlying individual, family and social issues impacting parents’ protection and care for their children.
- Effective written communication skills to write correspondence and prepare short reports.
- Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to work flexibly across multiple sites.
Additional Requirements:
- Current QLD Drivers Licence
- Current First Aid or ability to obtain
- Current Blue Card
- Current National Police Check
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Salary and Benefits:
- Attractive annual salary of $89,042 – $90,950 (based on experience) + Superannuation + Salary Sacrificing.
