Melior Positive Behaviour Support is a growing team of highly experienced positive behaviour support practitioners. We work closely with people with a broad range of disability, as well as their families and support workers, to understand why a person uses behaviours of concern to get their needs met.

The Lead Practitioner – Positive Behaviour Support will be part of the leadership team that enables positive behaviour support (PBS) practitioners to provide high quality, evidence-based services to meet the needs of people with a disability and their families.
Key responsibilities include
- Provide supervision and professional development to team members.
- Provide positive behaviour support to people with complex behaviours of concern.
- Support team members to meet KPIs.
- Provide consultancy to the Nulsen Group on complex behaviours of concern.
- Develop and provide training in positive behaviour support to disability support workers, families and other stakeholders.
- Participate as a member of the PBS leadership team to promote continuous improvement and development of PBS service provision.
Essential Criteria
- Tertiary qualification in psychology, occupational therapy, speech pathology or social work and registration/membership with the relevant practice board (AHPRA, SPA, AASW). Registration as a Psychology Board (AHPRA) approved supervisor will be well regarded.
- Must be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the scientific and philosophical basis of positive behaviour support.
- Significant (5+ years) post graduate experience and skills in the provision of positive behaviour support to people with highly complex support needs. Post graduate qualifications in PBS and/or ABA will be highly regarded.
- Meet the Advanced Practitioner capabilities as described by the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework (July 2019) of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a transdisciplinary team, with experience in management of human and physical resources.
- Experience in developing and delivering positive behaviour support training, coaching and support to non-clinical staff, service providers and families.
