About the role
This overarching aim of the HYDDI clinician is to identify symptoms of mental illness and substance use issues, maximize recovery and assist in establishing service linkages for young homelessness people who are in receipt of homelessness response. These dedicated roles are to work in partnership within the youth homeless sector.
Within this context, it is proposed the HYDDI role have four components:
- Direct clinical support.
- Secondary consultation.
- Provision of information and education.
- Capacity building within the youth homelessness services.
Key Responsibilities
- This exciting role will require the clinician to work both in the clinical setting alongside the Youth Mental Health Team, and within services in the Youth Homeless Sector.
- Improve the capacity of Youth Homeless Services within the Grampians region
- Identify and maximise recovery and establish linkages for young persons with symptoms of Mental Illness and substance use issues.
- Provide specialist support to Youth Homeless case Mangers
- Liaison between the Homelessness sector/Mental Health and A&OD services.
Skills and experience
The successful applicant will require relevant qualifications in Nursing, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Social work with current registration with Australian Health Practioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Experience in the mental health field with ongoing commitment to the delivery of evidenced based and best practice interventions, will hold the applicant in good stead. The applicant will also require a
