What you’ll be doing
The CCLHD Palliative Care Service requires a part time Bereavement Counsellor for a permanent position 4 days a week. You will be working with another 2 Bereavement counsellors, as well as the wider multi-disciplinary team. This challenging role provides pre-death counselling to patients and their carers, and post-death counselling to carers and families of the Central Coast community. The Bereavement team has a goaloriented model of care, focusing on complicated and/or prolonged grief. The model includes face to face, video and telephone counselling sessions. You will also be using your Social Worker skills and experience for Palliative Care patients and carers in the community setting. You will also be a part of an evolving Bereavement Team as we expand our resources to support the Central Coast community. Working hours are 0830 to 1700, work days have some flexibility Monday to Friday. The Service will be creating an eligibility list of suitable applicants.
