This is an exciting opportunity to learn couples counselling while being employed. No experience is necessary, all training will be provided as part of the role. The main criteria required is a keen interest in relationship therapy and some general clinical experience. This role is open to both counsellors and psychologists (clinical or general).
Sydney Couples Counselling Centre has built a reputation for high-quality couples counselling. The practice uses an Emotionally Focused Therapy approach, more information on this approach can be found on our website (www.sydneycouplescounselling.com.au).
With demand for our services growing, the centre is looking for new passionate staff members to learn our unique approach and help more couples build healthy relationships. While previous experience with couples counselling is welcomed, it is not necessary. The work will also include some individual therapy. The role is for 2-5 days per week, depending on the successful candidates preference.

Essential criteria:
- Qualified counsellor or registered psychologist/clinical psychologist
- Interest in couples counselling and a willingness to learn Emotionally Focused Therapy
- At least 1 year clinical experience post-training
- Professional work ethic
- Friendly and empathetic personality
Desirable criteria:
- Previous training in Emotionally Focused Therapy
- Experience or knowledge of attachment theory
- Training or experience with family therapy or couples counselling
