ABOUT THE ROLE

Due to an internal transfer we have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced leader to coach, develop and support a multi-disciplinary team of Counsellors, Mediators, Case Managers and Community Workers in our Central Coast region, in a Practice Lead management position.

This role will:

  • Inspire and shape clinical thinking and practice (provide clinical supervision, workforce development, staff engagement and collaboration)
  • Communicate effectively (staff and community consultation, articulation of Interrelate’s purpose and strategy)
  • Foster strong working relationships (leadership, strategic direction), and
  • Deliver results (management oversight, meeting clinical outcomes and KPIs, client centred approach to service delivery)
  • Commit to supporting reconciliation between First Nations Community and Non-Indigenous community by being involved in community engagement, cultural awareness, cultural humility, and continuing education.

This is a permanent part time position, 30 hours per week, with the flexibility to negotiate your working days and hours of work, between Monday – Friday (8am – 8pm). This position may require evening work and the occasional weekend work for community development.

This role can be based in our Gosford or Tuggerah offices and will be supporting the Central Coast region. The role will require travel across multiple sites within the region as required. As this position is required to work within an office you are required to be fully vaccinated and stay up to date with vaccines to comply with Interrelates vaccination policy.

Along with a relevant degree in psychology, social work, counselling, social science or a related discipline, we are looking for strong capabilities in Clinical Skills, Team Dynamics, Negotiation and Conflict Management, Interpersonal Skills, and Ethics.

Having skills and experience in dispute resolution work with families, including children, and significant familiarity with models of dispute resolution, child-inclusive practice and legally-assisted family dispute resolution, will be highly regarded.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

1. Relevant qualifications: Bachelor degree in psychology, social work, counselling, social science or related discipline; or a Graduate Diploma in counselling, community service or equivalent in addition to a Bachelor degree that is not a related discipline.

2. Demonstrated professional experience in one or more of the following:

a) the provision of individual and/or relationship counselling to couples and families (3+ years preferred) and specific expertise in one or more clinical areas such as: counselling, relationship education, children’s services, men’s programs, or family law; and/or

b) early intervention, assessment, case management and therapeutic support to children and young people experiencing risk and/or

c) dispute resolution work with families, including children, and significant familiarity with models of dispute resolution, child-inclusive practice and legally-assisted family dispute resolution, along with accreditation as an FDRP with the Attorney General’s Department;

3. Proven knowledge of child development, child protection, mandatory reporting, suicide prevention/ intervention, trauma and family violence issues, and an in-depth knowledge of relevant sectors and Federal and State legislation

4. Proven track record of clinical and line supervision and support to multidisciplinary teams working with families, children and young people experiencing challenges, and a strong commitment to, and the ability to lead staff in, working in the best interests of children as articulated in the Family Law Act 1975, in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and in accordance with the Royal Commission into the Institutional Responses into Child Sexual Abuse Ten Child Safe Standards

5. Highly developed leadership and coaching skills

6. Highly developed interpersonal, conflict resolution, negotiation and communication skills

7. Demonstrated experience in meeting performance indicators and organisational compliance requirements

8. Demonstrated experience in staff recruitment and development; client centred service design and delivery; program evaluation and reporting

9. Experience in establishing community links and contacts for the purpose of developing and promoting strategic partnerships
