Regional Manager Psychological Services Queensland Corrective Services

JOB DESCRIPTION

The essential requirements for this role are
– Experience in a criminal justice environment or similar human service or allied health setting.
– Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a service delivery team across varied locations, including an ability to apply contemporary human resource management practices and assist a team to adapt to a changing environment.
– Strong organisational and operational skills with the ability to set priorities, coordinate activities and meet deadlines.
– Demonstrated high level communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills for liaising with management and staff at all levels, to gain commitments and negotiate service delivery, priorities, deadlines, resources and other relevant issues.
– Proven ability in building and sustaining operational capacity and capability within a challenging and dynamic environment.
– Demonstrated experience in change management and continuous improvement in organisations, including an ability to work flexibly to respond to changing work priorities and to provide high level advice regarding professional standards.
– Experience in management of support services to professional staff and an understanding and application of practice supervision models and techniques.
– Understanding and application of practice supervision models and techniques.
– Conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Demonstrated knowledge, interpretation, and application of legislation, policies and procedures.

Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirements
– A degree qualification in psychology and a general registration as a psychologist is required.
– Possession of post graduate qualifications (or significant progress towards post graduate qualifications) in a relevant field would be highly regarded.
– Approval by the Psychology Board as a supervisor or eligibility to undertake this process is a mandatory requirement for this role.
