GROUP THERAPIST ADULT MENTAL HEALTH INPATIENT AND OUTPATIENT PROGRAM – 
(Psychologist / Social Worker / Mental Health Occupational Therapist/ Mental Health Nurse Therapist)

Permanent Roster Casual Position available 

About Currumbin Clinic:

 

Currumbin Clinic is a 104 bed private mental health hospital located on the Southern Gold Coast that offers comprehensive Inpatient, Day Program, Hospital in the Home and Psychiatrist Consulting. Our inpatient and outpatient programs offer a wide range of group therapy programs for adults requiring mental health support, veterans and emergency service people, as well as specialised substance and recovery programs.

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic practitioners to join our dynamic multidisciplinary allied health team. We offer a diverse range of programs that incorporate evidence based interventions and therapeutic models, within a safe and supportive team environment. 

You must be able to operate autonomously within a team dynamic, flexible and willing to adapt to the needs of group participants. Previous experience in facilitating group therapy is encouraged, while strong understandings of theoretical bases including ACT, mindfulness, CBT and or DBT, or recovery from addiction are essential. New Graduates with relevant clinical/placement experience in mental health, Veteran support or Recovery from Addiction are encouraged to apply also.
You will be predominately engaging in group facilitation, as well as individual clinical work with patients as required.

Essential Criteria:

  • You must be APRA registered or AASW eligible to be considered for the role.
  • Demonstrated high level of effective communication in a interdisciplinary team including consultation, collaboration and conflict resolution skills as well as demonstrated computer literacy
  • Demonstrated effective time management and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to evidence based practice, ongoing professional development and quality improvement activities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • A commitment to patient service and quality improvement.

 

Pre-Employment Screening: 

  • To ensure the quality and safety for our patients, staff and visitors, applicants will be required to provide before commencement a National Police Check. It is also mandatory by Queensland Health that all employees in the Private Health sector are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of double vaccination is a requirement to work in healthcare. 
  • You will also be required to provide current serology for vaccinations including Hep B, Dtpa, MMR and varicella.
  • A current police check (dated within the last three months)
