About the role

The Mental Health Clinician is responsible for providing mental health screening, monitoring and treatment planning for young people as part of VACCA’s Keep Embracing Your Success (KEYS) model of care. Mental Health Clinician works with the Child and Adolescent consultant psychiatrist to provide mental health advice and support as part of the KEYS multidisciplinary team

We are a dedicated, enthusiastic and professional multidisciplinary team who are motivated to improve long term cultural and clinical outcomes for Aboriginal children. This is a fabulous opportunity work in ways that align with your values and provide a much needed service to the community.

You will be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team where you will be exposed to professionally stimulating work and access to weekly child and adolescent psychiatry review. You will work with our VACCA staff as well as directly with families, carers and children, providing psychological and therapeutic assessments, advice and healing planning including therapy where appropriate.

What you bring

You are an experienced Mental Health Clinician with additional training or interest in child and family therapy and a strong trauma integrated clinical assessment and healing skillset mental health assessment and treatment planning. Your values align with VACCA’s and Aboriginal self-determination, culture, connectedness and belonging are central to healing and your practice.
