Provide short-term case management to a caseload of building and construction workers across Australia. Using a brokerage model, you will assess workers needs and issues and work with them to develop an appropriate plan. This role would be suited to someone looking to start their career, or an experienced Case Manager seeking part-time work.
Provide short-term case management to a caseload of building and construction workers across Australia. Using a brokerage model, you will assess workers needs and issues and work with them to develop an appropriate plan. This role would be suited to someone looking to start their career, or an experienced Case Manager seeking part-time work.
This role is 0.4FTE, working 2 days per week for a 12 month fixed term contract with genuine potential for the role to grow over time.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Providing short-term case management to workers using a brokerage model
- Refer workers to existing workplace services (for example, EAP) or other community services
- On a rostered basis and during office hours, answer the MATES 24/7 Telephone Helpline
- Work collaboratively with other Case Managers and Field Officers nationally, working across other industries such as mining and energy as required
- Provide on-site support through critical incident and/or postvention response
- Maintain regular Case Management records, building a resource database for case management
- Participate in relevant research projects and actively promote the MATES research agenda
Skills & Experience required
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work and registration (or ability to gain this) with AASW; OR a minimum of undergraduate qualifications in psychology and currently completing fourth year Honours program in order to be eligible for AHPRA registration
- Demonstrated case management experience, or you will have completed practical work placements / gained volunteer experience within a related human services field
- A willingness to work with the existing LivingWorks ASIST intervention model
- Ability to deliver programs effectively and willingness to learn how to speak and present to large groups
- A flexible and mature mindset, along with a calm, even-measured approach to working in a reactive environment
- The ability to work autonomously and manage your own priorities
