Take on this challenging but rewarding role as a Mental Health Clinician who will assist in the delivery of integrated primary mental health services at headspace Queanbeyan. You will be responsible for the engagement, assessment and coordination of care for young people aged 12-25 who have mental health, drug and alcohol, and economic and social recovery needs. The role will be well supported by experienced clinicians and reports to the Centre Manager, headspace Queanbeyan. You’ll be working with a friendly multidisciplinary team that’s focused on providing the best mental health care to young clients within your community. Who we are looking for
The successful applicant will be someone who meets the following criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications as a psychologist (provisional psychologist or part of a Registrar program), counsellor, social worker, or registered nurse.
- Registration with, or eligible to register with, the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA), or the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or equivalent.
- Knowledge and experience providing evidence based therapeutic interventions with young people aged 12-25 years, who are experiencing mental health issues.
- Demonstrated experience working with electronic data systems and electronic medical records.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills across a range of contexts
- Proven track record in building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders such as young people, family members and health professionals from other agencies
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively as part of a team.
