Behaviour Support Practitioner

As part of our growth an opening has arisen for a Behaviour Support Practitioner located in the vicinity of South Brisbane, Ipswich and surrounds, who will be able to provide service to the immediate area.

About the role
- Functionally assess people with complex behaviours
- Have the opportunity to work with people from diverse backgrounds
- Create Positive Behaviour Support Plans, using evidence-based best practice, to improve the quality of life for our participants with disabilities
- Develop the skills of and provide support to Support Workers and Participants’ teams
- Understand the NDIS Commissions reporting guidelines and requirements
- Provide clinical services to address specific challenging behaviours
- Participate in multi-disciplinary practice within the team and consultation with the other regulatory bodies
- Support, guide and lead a team of Allied Health Assistants in the provision of Positive Behaviour Support
- Liaise with other relevant professionals or agencies as required
- Working face-to-face, remotely and travelling out to participants homes
About You
* Degree qualified in a relevant field (Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Social Work) and a preparedness to apply your profession within the Behaviour Support space
* Experience in a similar role is desirable
* Knowledge of the NDIS framework
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Able to work independently, organize and prioritize competing demands
* An understanding of Microsoft office
* You have a current Drivers license and car for travel
* Relevant screening requirements
