About us:

 

Vlinder Expressive Arts Therapy is an NDIS-registered provider dedicated to self-awareness and self-care using visual art processes to explore, reframe and transform lives. We are a client-centred, strengths-based professional practice that provides services from early to elder years, celebrating and exploring development, transitions and obstacles to finding meaning in life. We support NDIS clients and their families and work onsite at primary and secondary schools and aged care residences. As well as our regular private 1:1 clients, we hold weekly group sessions and holiday programs at the studio practice. Being seen and heard, using curiosity, wonder and creativity are values that guide our business to being a hallmark hub for Creative Therapies on the Gold Coast.

 

Qualifications & experience:

 

  • New Graduate or 1 year experience with Art Therapy or Creative Arts Qualifications. Professional Membership of ANZACATA or equivalent essential.
  • Excellent Collaboration Skills
  • Demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to cultural, physical and sexual diversity.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills: verbal, written and active listening skills, as well as strong, complex communication skills, including engaging/effective digital platform communication, as well as conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge of and commitment to Professional Practice and Code of Ethics.
  • Understanding and willingness to commit to Vlinder Expressive Arts Therapy mission, core values and principals
  • Knowledge and experience with social media and Mailchimp would be an advantage.
  • The ability to work with all ages. A special interest in children’s programs is an advantage but not essential
  • Ability to deliver reports and service agreements to NDIS clients. As well as contribute to compiling applications for grants, funding and program proposals.

 

Tasks & responsibilities:

In this role you will be expected to deliver the following – individually or as a part of the team:

 

  • Deliver Art Therapy to individuals and groups.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to Children at Risk best practice standards.
  • Collaborate and communicate treatments needs within a multi-disciplinary treatment.
  • Maintain documentation of all art therapy sessions, including assessments, weekly notes and evaluations.
  • Ability to deliver accurate reports and service agreements to NDIS clients.
  • Contribute to compiling applications for grants, funding and program proposals. 
  • Collaborate with ongoing programs and practices.
  • Be available for weekly staff meeting for ase reviews and general business adminsitration.
  • Is able to take initiative as aligned to the values and culture of the team
  • Bring positive, enthusiastic and energic attitude to this business oan our clients
  • Is able to engage with our values of awe, wonder, growth and connection with our clients, team and Art Therapies contribution to Mental Wellbeing.
  • Work and be a part of a growing and committed Art Therapy team – although therapy can be a very individual practice, valuing the strengths and contribution of the team is just as important.
