Social Work or Psychology Graduate The Groundworks Lab

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a graduate social worker or psychologist (or a final year student graduating in Nov 2022) to join a small practice specialising in child-inclusive assessments under the Family Law Act 1975. This is a full time role, where you will work with some of Queensland’s highly respected practitioners to assess and report to the Federal Circuit and Family Court in Queensland, NSW and Victoria on post-separation parenting matters affecting the physical, psychological and social wellbeing of children. The role will commence in Jan/Feb 2023.

About you

You are genuinely passionate about child welfare and child safety, enjoy working in human services and possess a strong balance of analytical skills and empathy. You have high emotional intelligence and resilience, and your listening and writing skills are exemplary. You have the ability to engage positively with adults and children in challenging family circumstances, to think objectively and critically, and to assimilate evidence into concise, informative, insightful high quality professional reports. Your capabilities include – with training – the ability to present and defend your professional advice under cross-examination in a court of law. Previous experience is not necessary; knowledge, passion and professionalism are.
