Centacare Family and Relationship Services (CFRS) is a non-profit community organisation that supports the strengthening of family and community relationships, particularly where there is vulnerability and disadvantage. The role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Practitioner to join our Gold Coast team on a part time basis (30 hours per week). Practitioner’s Key responsibilities and attributes:
- Comprehensive Risk Assessment skills, ability to provide referrals for additional services; including specialist Domestic Violence, practical support and client advocacy.
- Experience in family, individual and child counselling, intake and assessment.
- Group Facilitation of children and parenting programs.
Qualified Practitioners with experience in family counselling and group facilitation (i.e., parenting, children’s programs, etc.), with a high understanding of the impact of Domestic and Family Violence, Child Safety and Family Law would be highly regarded.
Work hours will be negotiated with the successful applicants, which will include a minimum of one late night per week.

Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated applied understanding of Domestic and Family Violence Act, Child Protection Act and the Family Law Act;
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in the principles and practices of intake and assessment and referral pathways including screening for risk in the areas of child protection, domestic and family violence, suicide;
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with complex family systems, high acrimony environments, family distress and trauma, mental health problems, drug and alcohol and family law issues;
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in the delivery of group psycho-educational programs;
- Well-developed written work including report writing, case notes, data collection, data entry and computer literacy skills.
Essential requirements for the role:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Science from a recognised tertiary institution;
- Eligibility for membership of APS, AASW, or similar recognised professional association;
- Have a current Blue Card – or eligible to apply;
- Have a current drivers licence;
- Agree, if offered employment, to Centacare conducting an Australian Federal Police Criminal History Check;
- Agree to sign a statutory declaration stating that you have no overseas criminal offences;
- Have Australian Work Rights – Australian citizenship/Visa documentary evidence is. If so, to be provided at interview (please contact us for details if needed); and
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination is now required for roles which enter, work in or perform services where healthcare services are delivered.
Remuneration:
Remuneration for this position is paid in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award, minimum level at 5.1.
In addition, you will have the option to take advantage of our generous salary packaging options to increase your take home pay.
